Excuse me, waiter? I think you got some Zelda in my Mario Kart.

Nintendo is set to add characters and courses inspired by several of its popular franchises to Mario Kart 8. The revelation came via a listing that appeared on the Nintendo UK online store today. Two DLC packs will be released featuring characters such as Link from The Legend of Zelda, Isabelle and The Villager from Animal Crossing as well as new courses set in the worlds of F-Zero, Excitebike, Zelda and Animal Crossing.

Check out the full official description of this exciting DLC below.

Each Add On Content pack will contain two new cups, each with four courses, which, in total, increases the number of available courses by 50 percent. The Add On Content packs include classics like Wario’s Gold Mine from Mario Kart Wii, as well as new courses, some taking place in the worlds of The Legend of Zelda and Animal Crossing. New vehicles will also arrive with each pack, including the Blue Falcon kart representing the F-Zero franchise in the first AOC pack.

Mario Kart 8 Pack 1 – Released: November 2014

Pack 1 includes:

  • 3 Characters: Tanooki Mario, Cat Peach, Link
  • 4 Vehicles
  • 8 Courses

Mario Kart 8 Pack 2 – Released: May 2015

Zero Suit Samus Gets New Outfit in Super Smash Bros.

Samus Aran, Zero Suit Samus, Super Smash Bros, Wii U, Nintendo

Screenshot from the Wii U version.

Masahiro Sakurai, creator of Super Smash Bros. has revealed new costumes today for Zero Suit Samus based on her appearance in the ending of Metroid: Zero Mission. In that game players could see Samus in this rather revealing get-up if they met certain demands upon completing the game. Sakurai revealed these outfits in one of his regular ‘pic of the day’ Miiverse posts in which he also took pains to point out that it was a female designer who worked on these models for Samus.

Looking at the number of days we have left for development, it would be an impossible task to create this… That’s what I told my staff. But thanks to the determination of her female designer, these Zero Suit outfits got completed in time. From the ending of Metroid: Zero Mission, here’s Samus in shorts!

The outfits will be available to use in both the Wii U and 3DS versions of Super Smash Bros. Sakurai also posted an image from the 3DS game, which not only shows the outfits but also the return of a classic stage – Brinstar from Super Smash Bros. Melee!

Is Grezzo Hiring for Majora’s Mask 3D?

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

Ever since the release of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D on the 3DS fans have been clamoring for a similar remake of its N64 sequel Majora’s Mask. Developer Grezzo has now dropped a hint that fans may in fact get their wish as they have posted a job listing which, translated from Japanese, asks applicants “Would you like to make a legend with us?” The word ‘legend’ is highlighted in gold.

Besides Ocarina of Time 3D Grezzo have also worked on Four Swords Anniversary Edition, WiiWare game Line Attack Heroes and Street Pass title Flower Town so it seems plausible that Majora’s Mask could be the project they are hiring for. Time will tell if this is the case.
