Mortal Kombat X Announced with Trailer
Warner Bros has today announced Mortal Kombat X for both current and previous generation platforms. The announcement came via a trailer which features a typically brutal battle between Scorpion and Sub-Zero in an atmospheric forest. The trailer shows the return of X-Ray attacks from the 2011 iteration of the game. Players can also interact with the environment, for example pulling branches off trees to use as weapons.
The official description of the game reads:
Fueled by next-gen technology, Mortal Kombat X combines unparalleled, cinematic presentation with all new gameplay to deliver the most brutal Kombat experience ever. For the first time ever, Mortal Kombat X gives players the ability to choose from multiple variations of each character impacting both strategy and fighting style. And with a new fully-connected gameplay experience, players are launched into a persistent online contest where every fight matters in a global battle for supremacy.

A new Mortal Kombat game has been rumoured for a while. A poster for the game surfaced online recently, and earlier today a listing for the game appeared on Amazon UK.
Mortal Kombat X will be released in 2015 on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. More of the game will be shown at E3.
