The Witcher 3 Will Have the Same Content Across All Platforms
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will not feature platform exclusive content according to Marcin Iwinski, co-founder of CD Projekt Red – the game’s developer. Despite this Iwinski hinted at “marketing co-operation” with one platform, though he did not divulge whether this would be with PS4, Xbox One or PC.
We are treating all gamers equally. We’ll not deliver exclusive content to any of the platforms, nor will we artificially delay release of the game on any of the platforms because somebody’s paying us money for that. It’s definitely against our values. We are not doing that.
What we are doing in terms of marketing co-operation, you’ll see that at E3.
The Witcher 3 was featured on Microsoft’s stage at last year’s E3 and the game will be returning to the show this year, though it remains to be seen if it will again be part of Microsoft’s conference.
Iwinski also said that there will be some kind of online connectivity in the game, though this will be in the form of social sharing rather than multiplayer. More details will be revealed “when the time comes”.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is set for release in February 2015.
